My Story
My name is Jerry. “jdubbs” is new. It’s just my way of making things easier since my last name is Walkowiak. If you’ve ever tried to spell it after hearing it once, you get it.
I’ve spent most of my adult life leading, teaching, and carrying responsibility for other people. I’ve been in ministry, I’ve helped build organizations, and today I develop leaders at two busy restaurants while finishing a degree in psychology. Along the way, life has taught me that being busy is not the same as being whole.
I grew up learning to rely on performance more than honesty. For a long time, structure and certainty felt like safety. I’m grateful for much of that journey, and I’m also honest about the ways loss, divorce, health scares, and seasons of disappointment have reshaped how I hold faith and life. Slower. With more questions. With more grace.
jdubbslife exists because I needed a place to write, teach, and think out loud without pretending I have it all figured out. I’m still learning. I’m still listening. I’m still becoming.
If you’re here with uncertainty, questions, or just the need to breathe for a minute, you’re welcome here too. Oh, and Go Bills!!!!
